HR-0015 Azure Cloud Engineer engineer

Celeris Systems is seeking a full-time Azure Cloud Engineer to join our product development team in the El Segundo, CA area (majority of work will be remote except for times when sensitive projects must be worked in a government facility). Celeris develops and maintains a commercial product, iRIS, which is used across the Department of Defense (DoD) to manage system developmental testing. The iRIS product development team works hand-in-hand to manage upgrades and maintenance activities for federal and commercial customers. The Azure Cloud Engineer will design, build, implement and deliver scalable Microsoft Azure Cloud solutions. This role will be responsible for designing and optimizing cloud infrastructure environments and building out automation using Infrastructure as Code techniques. Major duties of the position include:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement enterprise-level Microsoft Azure solutions.

  • Align solutions to platform, data, cloud and reference architecture patterns and capabilities.

  • Ensure appropriate implementation of technology following all standards and best practices set forth by governing bodies.

  • Drive execution for large business initiatives including documentation, roadmaps, communication and alignment of domain architecture into business, product and technical plan.

  • Share Azure best practices, lessons learned and constantly update foundational teammates based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current, and upcoming Azure Cloud capabilities.

  • Review environment regularly for efficiency and cost optimization. This includes performing maintenance to ensure cyber security compliance.

  • Conduct research on environmental issues and attend meetings to propose technical solutions based on foundational initiatives.

  • Perform root cause analysis and provide guidance to technical leadership regarding future issue prevention.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer or Information Science or related field with additional job experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience

  • Experience designing and supporting large-scale Azure environments (3+ years)

  • Technical prowess in automation and deployment tools as well as scripting and markup languages

  • Strong understanding of enterprise-level Storage, Compute and Networking concepts and technologies

  • Experience as a cloud engineer for major technology implementations (5+ years)

  • Experience with Scripting languages such as PowerShell, JavaScript, Python

  • Strong skills with markup languages such as JSON

  • Strong understanding of Azure Cloud Security (NSG, RBAC, Service-to-Service interactions and least privilege approach from a human and services interaction perspectives, and environment segregation)

  • Strong Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools, specifically ARM Templates

  • Highly proficient in Azure IaaS components including but not limited to Compute (VMs, Containers, Serverless, PaaS Services, etc), Storage (Blob, File Share, Storage Accounts, etc…) and Networking (Azure Firewall, NSGs, VNETs, etc).

  • Experience with Infrastructure automation platforms

  • Knowledge and implementation of High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Performance Tuning best practices

  • Experience with Windows and Linux Server Systems running in Azure IaaS environments

  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and routing

  • Experience with Azure data layer services such as Azure SQL, Data Warehouse services, and Machine Learning services

  • Familiarity with Azure hierarchal fundamentals consisting of management groups, subscriptions and resource groups

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure monitoring practices with Azure Monitor or the like for infrastructure metrics applied at deploy time

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current DoD Secret security clearance. Or, must be eligible to receive a clearance up to the TS level.

  • Experience working with the federal government.

Wage/Salary: This is a full time position, wages commensurate with experience
